| 1:00-5:00 p.m. | Information Anywhere: Mobile Technology, Libraries and Health with Max Anderson Location: Ivy Tech Community College (9301 E 59th St. Indianapolis 46216) This four-hour class is an overview of the plethora of mobile devices available today and how they impact libraries and healthcare. We will discuss Apple's products (including iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad), Blackberry devices, and Google Android-powered phones and devices. Popular uses and applications for these devices, with particular emphasis on those that make use of the products of the National Library of Medicine will be highlighted. Students will learn what it takes to create mobile applications and websites, and will participate in a hands-on activity to create a simple mobile website. QR (Quick Response) Codes and Augmented Reality will also be discussed. *Applicants must have their 2012 dues paid in full, and
submit a completed application by March 8, 2012.
The individual receiving the stipend will be notified the
week of March 15th, 2012.
The stipend will cover full conference registration,
one night lodging at the Fort Harrison Inn plus mileage* to and from South Bend.
The recipient of the stipend will be asked to write a short article about their conference experience for the IHSLA website.
